Versilia

Actually the name Versilia includes the 80 km. of coast from Bocca di Magra to the Arno delta but local tradition calls Versilia only the stretch of coast from Marina di Massa to Viareggio.

	Viareggio (8 km. from Pedona)
	The capital of Versilia features a five-km-long promenade by the sea, lined with boutiques, cafès, restaurants, bookshops, art galleries. During Mardi Gras there is an exceptional parade of wagons and people in disguise together with music bands comparable to the one held in Rio de Janeiro. Viareggio also offers some of the best Versilia beaches. 	Forte dei Marmi (10 km. from Pedona)
	It is the most exclusive beach resort of the Versilia area, offering beautiful beaches and fashion shops. Very close to the coastline there is an 18-hole golf course and many riding schools. www.vacanzeversilia.com
	Torre del Lago Puccini (15 km. from Pedona)
	Home to the great opera composer, Giacomo Puccini, who used to shoot around the Massaciuccoli lake. Nowadays, in summer, the summer famous open-air festival dedicated to him is held by the lake. www.torredellago.com www.puccinifestival.it
