Pedona and Il Cinghialino are located north of the heart of Tuscany, 30 km. (20/25 minutes by motorway) from Pisa airport.
Less than 120/130 km. away (around an hour and a half by motorway/national roads) you’ll find: Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Volterra and its ancient Etruscan territories, Livorno with ferry-boarding to Elba island and to some other minor Tuscan islands (i.e. Capraia, Giannutri, Giglio, Pianosa, Gorgona e Montecristo).
This section however only mentions places and attractions that fall within 40/45 km. in distance i.e. normally not more than 30/45 minutes in time.
Camaiore: 6 km; Massa-Carrara and the Apuane alps marble quarries: 40 km; Forte dei Marmi: 10 km; Garfagnana area: 40 km; Lucca: 30 km; Pietrasanta: 15 km; Pisa: 35 km; Torre del Lago Puccini: 15 km; the Versilia coast that begins in Viareggio: 8 km.
Pedona and Il Cinghialino are also located 50 km. away from the La Spezia Gulf (Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino) and less than 80 km. away from Cinque Terre (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola e Riomaggiore).
La Spezia Gulf and Cinque Terre are in Liguria and can be reached also by boat from Viareggio.
Across the Appennini (the mountain range stretching from north to south of Italy) you’ll find, within 150 km., Parma, Colorno, Busseto, Roncole, etc. still rich in memories of Giuseppe Verdi and of Mary Louise Absburg wife and then widow of Napoleon Bonaparte.
