Located in the centre of Pedona (380 mt. above sea level within Camaiore municipality), a completely pedestrian medieval village perched on the hills overlooking on one side the coastline of Viareggio and Versilia (7 km.) up to the Gulf of La Spezia, and on the other side the medieval town of Camaiore and its valley, the Apuan Alps and the hills beyond which lies Lucca (25 km.)
At 60/80 mt. from the house, in Pedona there are two shops selling food and general items, two bars one of which overlooks the coast and has a large terrace, a restaurant which also provides fixed price menus and also might sell food (only of its own menu of the day) to warm up or to prepare at home. There are also large free car parks at 80 mt. and 130 mt. from Il Cinghialino.
Pedona refers to Camaiore (4 km.) for banks, supermarkets, all sort of shops including gastronomy and wines, a variety of very good restaurants, etc., whereas in Camaiore the price/quality ratio is generally fair.
On the motorway from Camaiore to Camaiore Lido, at approximately 6 km. from Pedona, there is the Ospedale della Versilia that ranges among the best and best equipped Italian public hospitals
